Genre Rating is based purely on its specific genre. Mostly personalized to “Hollywood Insiders”: Hollywood Insider Rating: 10/10. Hollywood Insiders: Alien Movie, the same as the encounters of the 3rd kind and The Abyss. Very accurate and could be exactly what it is.

Thunderbolts (2025) Movie Review
Hollywood Insider Rating: 4/10
Thunderbolts (2025) Key Take-Aways:
Over All Message: Family and friends can help bring the good out of you, and you can always start over. Overcoming the negativity that comes your way is possible no matter how dark it is.
Key Take Away: Family is who you build it with.
Why is it Worth Watching? The movie goes into full depth of family building and overcoming your past and who you want to become. I like the theme and it did a great job of introducing this new Marvel phase. Maybe this will show what the next phases will be — more dark?
A lot of previous Marvel productions weren't setting the bar for the fans. Thunderbolts* did a great job of showing an introduction movie, maybe not as good as "The Avengers" but this will do. It was entertaining and funny.
Bad Parts? It dragged, and dwelled on parts. Like dude we get it, but I had to think about the youth and the message. That acceptance lets me know at least they are trying, so I didn't want to knock on that too much. But the dragging did feel overstepped for sure.
Maybe too many laughs at parts that should be more serious, but the overall dialogue was great and fun.
Thunderbolts (2025) The Movie Worth Watching?:
Brief (if you haven’t watched the movie yet): Looking at it from a fan POV or someone that doesn’t really know what’s going on, the movie is an introduction type of movie.
Introducing new character setups and previous characters now taking over a bigger role. Also intro to what will be your new Avengers for the brand.
The movie did a great job showing this and letting the viewer understand this world we’re getting into.
Spoilers (DON’T CLICK UNLESS YOU WATCHED THE MOVIE ALREADY): DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU WATCHED THE MOVIE ALREADY. YOU BEEN WARNED! Breaking the Marvel universe into half and judging the 1st half (2008) to the 2nd (2020) would make these new phases seem very “amateur.”
Sure, sum things went right and wrong in these new phases. I do think Feige wasn’t completely hands-on in these new phases compared to his older works — giving people opportunity and new ideas. But it deff took a hit. I’d like to think that the “New Avengers” aka the “Thunderbolts*” represents that! “Sure we’re not as perfect as the original Avengers and maybe we aren’t saints, and it’s been a bumpy road, but we’re here to stay.”
So it reminds me of phase one Thor and a few other movies that weren’t great but they made up for it and continued great movies after the “few hiccups.” Maybe that’s been happening to Marvel phases the last couple years — maybe this is the turnaround? It’s deff a deal breaker for this one and the upcoming “Fantastic 4” (2025) movie. If they flop, it’s over for the brand.
